Leah Knight, Founder and Artistic Director of Ensemble Cameranze began her classical studies at the age of three with violin, piano and voice lessons. Ms.Knight has performed as soloist in the Austin area and\u00a0by invitation at the Moscow Conservatory of Music, Russia. Her most\u00a0notable roles include \u201cVirtu\u201d from\u00a0L\u2019incoronazione di Poppea, \u201cTatiana\u201d from\u00a0Eugene Onegin,\u00a0\u201cDie Erste Dame\u201d from\u00a0Die Zauberfl\u00f6te\u00a0(Salzburg, Austria), \u201cLa Contessa\u201d from\u00a0Le nozze di Figaro, Nella in\u00a0Johnny Schicchi\u00a0, title role in\u00a0Suor Angelica\u00a0and \u201cMartha\u201d in\u00a0A Secret Garden\u00a0for which she won a Best Actress in a Supporting Role \u201cSammy\u201d award. Leah completed her Bachelor\u2019s under the University of Texas\u2019 Martha Deatherage and her Master\u2019s in Music under Rose Taylor with the role of \u201cTatiana\u201d in Tchaikovsky\u2019s\u00a0Eugene Onegin, in tandem with a disquisition on Tatiana\u2019s literary origins, serving as her Master\u2019s Thesis. Ms. Knight participated as an Apprentice Artist with Sarasota Opera and Des Moines Metro Opera for the2006-2007 season. Leah most recently performed \u201cAlice\u201d in\u00a0Falstaff\u00a0with Spotlight on Opera and soprano soloist for Mozart\u2019s REQUIEM with St. William Symphony. \u00a0She maintains a busy teaching and performance schedule while enjoying her guitar, erhu and her two sons.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
